Cllr Lyndal Singh Assist Residents after Contractors damage Sewer Manhole in Heatbury Uint 7 Phoenix.

Disgusting and putrid smells from a burst sewage pipe has left one resident of Heathbury Place in an angry uproar.

Jugades Naidoo, the complainant, claimed that the vacant land next to his property has recently been dug for the landscaping for a new block of flats and that the construction workers dug too wide and as a result cut the sewage pipe on his property.

"During the course of the day the filthy water flows into the open land and you can see the debris of toilet paper in the sand. The smell is horrendous and the water is causing mosquitoes to breed", Naidoo said.

Naidoo also claimed that he had told the contractors not to get to close to his property and alleged that they did not listen.

He continued saying that he finally had enough and contacted the Minority Front Councillor Lyndal Singh to investigate the matter and sort out the problem as soon as possible.
Cllr Lyndal Singh said " This open sewer manhole is a health risk and the council should sort it out immediately however with the strike it will take longer but will get fixed, caution must be taken by contractors working in the area not to damage council infer structure. However the worst thing is when they damage infer structure and just leave it without fixing the problem, this type off behaviour will not be tolerated". said cllr Lyndal Singh.
